Editor's note: Guge, formerly known as Gu Rongxiang1 , is currently the chairman and general manager of Xi'an Zhongxing Measurement and Control Co., Ltd. He continued to serialize the series of essays "Guge Talks: Insights on sensor chips" on his personal WeChat public account , recording his own knowledge and insights about the sensor and Internet of Things industries. China Exportsemi Net authorized the reprinting of his articles for readers to Can look at the past, current situation and development of this industry from the perspective of a senior industry person. For the convenience of reading, the article has been changed during reprinting. If necessary, you can find the original text at the end of the article. Following the content of the previous issue, this article focuses on the various applications of Tyco Electronics' sensors. The text begins below:

At the Sensor Application Conference the day before yesterday (January 10, 2023), Mr. BW TAN, General Manager of the Asia Pacific Region of TE Connectivity’s Sensor Division, and TE’s sensors at the Sensors and Industrial Internet sub-forum yesterday (January 11, 2023) Ms. Zheng Tingting, head of marketing in the Asia-Pacific region of the business unit, introduced the company and its main sensor types.

Speaking of which, Brother Gu himself has some historical connections with TE. The full name of TE is TYCO Electronic, and its Chinese name is Tyco Electronics. In the United States, the earliest Tyco International was a large financial company. At the beginning of this century, Tyco International acquired the relay department of Siemens, and the American AMP Corporation (AMP, the world's largest connector company) and the American Raychem (automatic recovery fuse) company became independent and combined to form Tyco Electronics. Dak is back on the market. At that time, Xi'an Zhongxing Measurement and Control Company was the northwest agent of Raychem (resettable fuse) in the United States. Due to the interdependence of connectors and sensors in the industrial chain, TE also acquired MSI, a company whose Asian headquarters is in Nanshan District, Shenzhen. Before TE acquired Jingji, Jingji had acquired more than a dozen small-scale sensor companies with leading technologies in different categories around the world. After TE acquired Jingji Company, it continued to increase its acquisitions. So far, it has acquired nearly 30 different types of sensor companies around the world. In Gu Ge’s opinion, TE should currently be the company with the largest variety of sensors in the world, surpassing the sensor types of American company Hornier more than ten years ago.

In fiscal year 2022, the number of sensors produced will be 236 billion, with fiscal year revenue of US$16.3 billion, of which 35% of sales come from mainland China, which is US$5.7 billion, or approximately RMB 41 billion, and all sensor companies in our country combined How much is it? Everyone thinks it is an American company, but in fact it is a Swiss company listed in the United States. According to Ms. Zheng’s introduction, typical representatives of TE’s main industrial sensors include the following.

In the field of HVAC, there are mainly temperature sensors, pressure sensors, differential pressure sensors, linear displacement sensors, and humidity sensors, among which temperature and pressure sensors are used in large quantities.

High-speed rail is a national business card of China. The sensors on high-speed rail include speed sensors and braking system pressure sensors. Anti-electromagnetic interference and vibration indicators are one of the important indicators of high-speed rail sensors, because safety is the most important indicator.

With the development of hydrogen energy, the production, transportation, storage and use of hydrogen energy have strict requirements on pressure sensors, especially the phenomenon of "hydrogen embrittlement" in houses. Many domestic pressure transmission manufacturers use gold plating to prevent hydrogen embrittlement. I wonder how effective it is? !

Robots have developed very widely, and industrial robots and service robots are very different. The safety torque sensor of industrial robots is a relatively unique sensor with high technical difficulty and high safety requirements.

The rapid development of the energy storage industry involves the safety of electrochemical energy storage. For the safety of large energy storage batteries, timely measurement of its temperature, pressure and liquid level has become the first choice of sensors since safety is important. The reliability of the sensor must be guaranteed.

TE has many types of sensors, ranging from basic wafer chips to sensor components and solutions. Different types of sensors from nearly 30 countries around the world can solve sensor solution problems in many industrial fields.

Google will recommend excellent sensor companies or sensor products in the world. Recommendations from your circle of friends are welcome. Be sure to seek truth from facts and be genuine.
