At the inaugural meeting of WIoTa Special Committee held in Xiamen International Conference Center on October 26th, Li Mingdong, Vice President of UCCHIP, was elected as Chairman of SIA WIOTa Special Committee.

The WIoTa Special Committee of China Sensor and Internet of Things Industry Alliance was jointly initiated and established by more than 30 well-known units in all aspects of production, education and research in the industrial ecology field of WIoTa (English full name Wide-range Internet of Things communication protocol Committee) in China, and was formally established with the approval of the alliance on October 26, 2023.

At the conference, Zhu Jiaqi, deputy secretary-general of China Sensor and Internet of Things Industry Alliance, delivered a speech. He first congratulated the establishment of WIoTa Special Committee. Secondly, he mentioned that the core technology of the Internet of Things has two parts: sensing and communication. He said that sensing and communication will converge, because the Internet of Things will have more room for development only if it is converged from the solution side and cost. The Internet of Things will definitely develop in the direction of Total solution, and it is hoped that sensing and communication can be better integrated, so as to truly provide good solutions for entrepreneurs and application customers, so that the Internet of Things can land quickly and everyone's business can get up quickly.

Li Guangjie, founder and CEO of UCCHIP, gave a wonderful speech entitled "Analysis of WIoTa Technology and Application Development Trend". Li Guangjie is a designer of chip agile development method, inventor of WloTa wide-area Internet of Things communication protocol and designer of Cloud-RAN (5G infrastructure). He has nearly 20 years of rich experience in facilities, ultra-low power communication and computing chip design, and chip development tool design. As an expert in the field of communication, Mr. Li introduced that UCCHIP is an IP-level innovative chip design enterprise with its own agile chip development method and self-developed WIoTa communication protocol. At the same time, he showed six major product series of UCCHIP, including RFID series, WIoTa series, MCU&DSP series, smart city and smart animal husbandry chip-level Internet of Things solutions, and focused on WIoTa communication protocols, products and rich application reference cases.

WIoTa is a customized wireless communication LPWAN protocol for the Internet of Things, which has its own intellectual property rights for UCCHIP. It has wide coverage, low power consumption, large capacity, low cost, flexible and convenient deployment and configuration, can meet the wireless connection requirements of the Internet of Things communication ad hoc network in all walks of life, and is an effective supplement to 5G. Design proposal: wireless data transmission DTU

 WIoTa DTU is a wireless data transmission device based on WIoTa communication protocol. It adopts UC8288 SoC high-performance chip, which has strong signal penetration, long communication distance and wide coverage. Support point-to-point, point-to-multipoint network configuration, flexible interface use, support standard RS232, RS485 interface. The product has strong anti-interference, and the data has its own encryption algorithm. It supports the working modes of broadcast query, active reporting and fixed-point query. With the unique low-power single-point wake-up technology, it is suitable for scenes such as low power consumption, low cost, scattered points and complex geographical environment. Support a variety of sensor terminal adaptation, help users quickly access the Internet, Internet of Things platform and intelligent applications, and realize safe and reliable data transmission.

Design proposal: lighting wireless switch control

The indoor lighting management scheme based on WloTa realizes the wireless lighting management at a lower cost, and can be deployed conveniently and flexibly whether it is front-mounted or rear-mounted. At the same time, it provides a large-capacity synchronous networked version and an asynchronous version with simple deployment. The synchronous version adopts AP with terminal, which is especially suitable for the application scenarios of units and enterprises. Combined with platform functions, it realizes the functions of lighting equipment management, control and information statistics, and realizes the fine management of energy consumption of enterprises. The asynchronous version is fully compatible with the switches of traditional lighting control in usage habits, and its daily use and preparation management operations are free from platform dependence. At the same time, it has the advantages of long distance and strong penetration, and can realize advanced functions such as overall control, grouping control and predefined logic of the whole house.

Design scheme: smoke/gas alarm

 The low-power smoke/gas alarm device developed based on WIoTa communication protocol UCM200 module is a wireless long-distance communication alarm, which can detect smoke and dust particles with a certain concentration generated during fire, and support gas detection such as methane and natural gas. When the alarm detects that the smoke or gas concentration is higher than the threshold, it will trigger local acousto-optic alarm and send out alarm signals in time. The alarm signal is uploaded to the intelligent application platform in real time through WIoTa wireless network, and the remote early warning notice is quickly sent out and other equipment is linked to intervene in dangerous situations. The local acousto-optic alarm will send out a harsh high-frequency sound of 85 decibels, reminding users in time to ensure personal and property safety.
