Mtk and alibaba join forces to explore new opportunities for ai applications

In the midst of continuous breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, MediaTek, a world-renowned smartphone chip maker, and Chinese tech giant Aliyun have announced an in-depth partnership aimed at taking AI Intelligent Body (AI Agent) applications to new heights. The core of this cooperation is to complete the end-side deployment of the small-size version of the Tongyi Qianqian large model on MediaTek's Tiangui mobile platform, opening up new paths for the development of AI intelligent bodies. It is reported that the adaption of Tengui 9300 mobile platform and Tengui 8300 mobile platform has been completed, which can realize instant and accurate human-machine dialogue Q&A in the case of disconnection.

Dr. Robin Li, Vice President of MediaTek's Wireless Communications Division, expressed his positive expectations for the cooperation with Aliyun, noting, "Aliyun's Tongyi series of large models have excelled in the field of AI, and we expect to be able to provide application developers and end-users with even more powerful and complete hardware and software solutions through this cooperation. This will help drive the deployment of generative AI on end devices and accelerate the development of AI applications and AI intelligences ecosystems, thus bringing consumers a more exciting AI product experience." Xu Dong, business head of Ali Tongyi Labs, also recognized the results of the collaboration, mentioning, "In the field of end-side AI, the application of large models to the ground is a crucial part of the process, but there are many challenges in the process, including the compatibility issues of hardware and software and the perfection of the development environment. Through close collaboration with MediaTek, we have successfully solved many technical challenges and realized the innovation of integrating big models directly into cell phone chips, which sets a new benchmark for the Model-on-Chip deployment model of end-side AI. We firmly believe that this breakthrough will inspire developers to create more AI applications that are both innovative and practical." Through this collaboration, the two companies plan to work together to build a generative AI hardware and software ecosystem for application developers and end-device vendors, adapting more parameterized versions of the Generalized Big Model based on MediaTek's Tenguet mobile platform. MediaTek's Tenguet 9300 mobile platform integrates the seventh-generation AI processor, APU790, and has a built-in hardware-grade generative AI engine, supporting endpoints to run AI macrolanguage models with up to 33 billion parameters. In addition, MediaTek's AI development platform, NeuroPilot, builds a rich AI ecosystem, adapts the world's mainstream AI big models, provides a complete toolchain, and supports NeuroPilot Fusion and LoRA fusion technologies. AliCloud's Tongyi Thousand Questions Big Model is a self-developed LLM base big model, which has been released in version 2.0 with a thousand billion parameters as well as open-source multi-size versions, including visual understanding models and audio big models. These models have achieved outstanding results in multiple industry benchmark measurements and have topped the global high-impact Hugging Face rankings.

The partnership between MediaTek and Aliyun will drive the widespread adoption of AI smart body applications and bring smarter product experiences to users. By integrating MediaTek's hardware and AI computing capabilities and Aliyun's advanced technology, the two companies will work together to explore and realize more natural and intelligent human-computer interactions. This collaboration will not only accelerate the application of AI technology in daily life, but will also bring broader innovation opportunities for developers and end-device vendors. MediaTek's partnership with Aliyun marks a new stage in the development of AI smart body applications. Their joint efforts will accelerate the deployment of generative AI on the terminal side, jointly cultivate generative AI application scenarios and ecosystems, and co-create future-oriented AI smart body product experiences.
