China's Didi, GAC Aion to mass produce robotaxis next year

On April 5, Musk said in a social network post that he would launch a Tesla driverless car on August 8, opening the era of driverless online taxi, and this driverless cab project is regarded as an important milestone for Tesla in the field of autonomous driving. Subsequently, Dripping Autopilot and GAC EAN announced immediately after that the joint venture company was approved for industrial and commercial licenses. This is the first joint venture company established in China by an L4 autonomous driving company and a car company to build a Robotaxi production vehicle - Guangzhou AnDi Technology Co.

This cooperation marks a new stage in the development of the autonomous driving industry, aiming to combine the technical advantages and industrial resources of both parties to jointly build Robotaxi mass-production vehicles and promote the scale and commercialization of driverless technology.

The establishment of Guangzhou AnDi Technology Co., Ltd. is based on the deep accumulation of DDT Autopilot in L4-level autonomous driving technology, and the strong strength of GAC EAN in the field of new energy vehicle manufacturing and intelligent vehicle technology. The first task of the joint venture is to build the Robotaxi production vehicle, which will be the first L4-level driverless car designed for shared mobility.
