Following the content of the previous article, we continue to take stock of Ubiselect’s robot products. UBTECH has a wide range of products, and we will explain them by category.

UBTECH's humanoid robot products are divided into two categories based on body size:

  • Large humanoid robots, including Walker series (Walker, Walker2, Walker X), panda robot Youyo, etc.;
  • Small humanoid robots, including Wukong, Alpha Ebot and other robot products. n

1. Large-scale humanoid robot products

Walker series (Walker, Walker2, Walker X)

The UBTECH Walker robot first launched a prototype in 2016. The prototype has an omnidirectional walking function, but the speed is relatively slow, only 1.0km/h.

In 2018, UBTECH officially launched the first-generation Walker robot. The robot has 14 degrees of freedom and a walking speed of 1.5km/h. It has functions such as walking up and down stairs, playing football, dancing, sensing obstacles and avoiding obstacles, and human-computer interaction. According to the UBTECH prospectus, the robot is China’s first commercialized bipedal life-size humanoid robot.

In 2019, UBTECH launched the second-generation Walker. The product adds flexible arms and dexterous hands. Combined with machine vision capabilities, it can achieve hand-eye coordination for grasping. At the same time, voice interaction has also been introduced, and the robot can communicate with people. In addition to further optimizing the motion control algorithm, it also integrates more sensors, allowing the robot to gain perception capabilities, allowing it to identify the surrounding environment and terrain and achieve autonomous navigation and walking. There have also been more breakthroughs in movement and balance abilities, and they can adjust their balance by themselves even if they are affected by external impacts.

In 2021, UBTECH released a new generation of Walker Omnidirectional hearing, inertia, ranging and other comprehensive sensing systems, the walking speed is increased to 3km/h. According to the UBTECH WeChat public account, Walker

Panda Robot Youyou

The panda robot Youyou is 1.30 meters tall and weighs 63 kilograms. It is a design prototype based on the image of a giant panda. Based on the humanoid robot Walker World premiere. Its main functions are as follows:

Navigation explanation: The panda robot Youyou integrates text, voice, vision, movement, environment and other multi-modal interaction methods for human-computer interaction, and can simulate human expression characteristics for navigation explanation.

Dance performance: The panda robot Youyou has dexterous limbs composed of 41 high-performance servo joints, showing its rich flexibility and freedom. It can also realize synchronized dance performances by multiple robots.

Writing and drawing: The panda robot Youyou is equipped with high-performance servo joints. Through online trajectory planning of glyphs, high-precision trajectory tracking and force-position hybrid control, it can achieve calligraphy and painting tasks well.

Wukong Robot

Wukong robots are divided into two types: educational and non-educational.

  • The humanoid Alpha Mini Wukong (Education) was launched in 2019 and is mainly used in the fields of education and health care. Wukong (Education) supports UCode, artificial intelligence programming and teaching models, and can provide robotics, programming and artificial intelligence education services to students inside and outside schools, as well as artificial intelligence courses designed for students at different stages and groups.

2) Humanoid Alpha Mini Goku (non-educational) was launched in 2016 and is mainly used for home entertainment. Similar to Wukong (education), Wukong (non-education) can also take photos, video surveillance, make phone calls, sing and dance, etc., and has the ability to perceive the surrounding environment and humans and respond accordingly.

Alpha Ebot humanoid robot

Alpha Ebot is an intelligent educational humanoid robot launched by UBTECH and Tencent. It contains 16 independently developed servo servos and a built-in MCU, including servo control system, sensor feedback system and DC drive system. The time difference between the servos is controlled within 0.01s, supporting 360° rotation movement with an action accuracy of 1°. In addition, UBTECH has cooperated with Codingmao to develop a programming course system for Alpha Ebot from shallow to deep, starting from the principles of robots, then touching on simple action editing and graphical programming, and finally learning script programming in Python language.
