Dreame Technology: Reuse of sweeping robot technology and enter the field of humanoid robots

 

Relying on motor + algorithm technology, it has successfully entered the field of humanoid robots. Dreame Technology was established in 2017. Its main business is sweeping robots, vacuum cleaners, floor washing machines and other home appliances. Dreame Technology has focused on the research and development of high-speed digital motor technology since its establishment. It is the first company in the world to achieve a high-speed digital motor exceeding 180,000 rpm, and has reserved technical capabilities of 200,000 rpm. At the same time, Dreame Technology attaches great importance to robot algorithm research and has made many iterations in the field of sweeping robots. Relying on its early motor and algorithm foundation in the field of sweepers, Dreame Technology has successfully entered the field of robots and launched a variety of four-legged robot products. In August 2023, Dreame launched a universal humanoid robot at the World Robot Conference.

 

The research and development process of chasing technology robots

——The first generation quadruped robot will be developed in October 2021.

——In January 2023, the research and development of industrial-grade quadruped robots will be completed, mainly for the B-end market.

——In March 2023, ChuiMi’s universal humanoid robot and Dream Dog with 15 degrees of freedom were unveiled at ChuiMi’s first press conference.

——In July 2023, the universal humanoid robot can be separated from the laboratory environment and demonstrate actions such as waving, interaction, and walking in indoor and outdoor scenes; it can still walk stably after experiencing gravity tapping and boxing.

——A universal humanoid robot will be launched at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in August 2023

 

Servo motor: Dreame Technology has the design and production capabilities of servo motors. Dreame's self-developed servo motor contains 60+ parts, integrating motor, driver, reducer and dual encoders; the reducer part is made of high-strength chromium steel, and the main structure part is made of aluminum alloy and magnesium alloy. The maximum output torque of the motor can reach 32Nm, and the maximum speed is 220RPM. It has fast response capabilities and a torque bandwidth of >1kHz, enabling precise control of the strength and accuracy of robot joints.

Algorithms: Dreame Technology has made breakthroughs in SLAM, ToF LiDAR, structured light and other algorithm technologies, enhancing the robot's scene recognition and semantic understanding capabilities. In the field of sweeping robots, Dreame Technology has rich experience in target detection and recognition, multi-sensor perception fusion processing strategies, navigation positioning, and map management and application, including map semantic understanding automatic segmentation, waypoint navigation and other technologies. In the development of quadruped and humanoid robots, Dreame Technology has successfully achieved technology reuse.

The dexterous hands are highly flexible, and algorithms + sensors help achieve autonomous obstacle avoidance. According to the official website of Dreame Technology, the Dreame universal humanoid robot is highly bionic, with a height of 178cm, a weight of 56kg, and a total of 44 degrees of freedom in the whole body, of which one leg has a full 6 degrees of freedom, and can stand on one leg. With advanced servo motor technology, the dexterous hands of the Dreame humanoid robot are flexible to operate and can achieve latte art for coffee. In terms of interaction, the Dreame humanoid robot is equipped with a depth camera, which can complete the modeling of indoor three-dimensional environments. Combined with advanced dynamic control algorithms + a variety of sensors, it can adapt to different road surfaces and achieve autonomous obstacle avoidance.
