According to reports, Alphawave Semi has partnered with ARM to develop advanced computing chips based on the Arm Neoverse Computing System (CSS) for artificial intelligence or machine learning, high-performance computing (HPC), data centers, and 5G/6G network infrastructure applications. Last year, Alphawave Semi announced its participation in Arm Total Design, an ecosystem for building custom silicon solutions based on Arm Neoverse CSS.
Alphawave Semi's custom silicon-based silicon design platform adds differentiators to our portfolio, including IO expansion chips, memory chips, and compute chips, as well as Alphawave Semi's ultra-high-speed connectivity IP and advanced packaging capabilities. The compute chip family features an Arm Neoverse N3 CPU core cluster and Arm Coherent Mesh Networking (CMN) to ensure efficient, scalable performance. In addition, the technology uses industry-leading process nodes to help customers accelerate development and reduce time-to-market (TTM) for next-generation custom system-on-chip (SoC) technologies. These state-of-the-art SoCs enable the rapid deployment of high-performance digital infrastructure, enabling the creation of custom silicon solutions for specific needs.

Alphawave Semi has partnered with Arm to enhance this setup with its advanced packaging technology and leading portfolio of connectivity technologies, including PCIe Gen 6.0 and 7.0, Universal Chiplet Express (UCIe), 112/224G Ethernet, and HBM subsystems. This strategic integration ensures that Arm-based compute chipsets deliver the performance and flexibility to meet the needs of next-generation HPC, data center, AI/ML, and 5G/6G infrastructures, while accelerating customers' time to market.
"Our Arm-based compute chips are a key component of Alphawave Semi's custom silicon platform and are a reflection of our IP, SoC and packaging capabilities and successful strategic partnership with Arm," said Mohit Gupta, senior vice president and general manager, Alphawave Semi Custom Silicon and IP. Combining the Arm Neoverse CSS platform with Alphawave Semi's advanced and proven IP drives innovation across the chip ecosystem and simplifies the development of critical custom silicon for AI, HPC, and other demanding digital infrastructure applications. ”
"Arm Total Design is nurturing a fast-growing ecosystem around custom silicon and enabling silicon innovation to meet increasingly complex computing requirements," said Eddie Ramirez, vice president of marketing for Arm's infrastructure business line. Alphawave Semi's new advanced compute chips are a great example of how industry-leading companies can leverage the performance optimization and energy efficiency benefits of Neoverse CSS to get to market faster and support the next generation of AI and HPC workloads. ”
