Egis Group recently announced a strategic collaboration with Arm to drive innovation in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing (HPC) chip technology. Egis Technology, a member of the Egis Group, joins the Arm Total Design ecosystem with Alcor Micro Corp. This ecosystem is dedicated to the seamless delivery of custom SoCs based on Neoverse Compute Subsystems (CSS). Through this collaboration, Egis and Alcor Micro will leverage Neoverse CSS to develop new silicon solutions targeting HPC and generative AI applications, combining Egis' strength in specialized IC design with the energy efficiency benefits of Arm technology.
The high-performance computing market is a fast-growing field that provides a variety of industries with massive computing power to solve complex computing problems. It is widely used in scientific research, weather forecasting, simulation experiments, biopharmaceutical, gene sequencing, image processing and other industries to deal with large-scale computing problems, such as computationally intensive and massive data processing tasks. North America is the largest technology market and is also expected to become a player in the global economy, especially in the development and use of new technologies. The North America HPC market accounted for the highest share of over 40% in 2022. The Chinese market is also showing rapid growth, benefiting from the promotion of big data and smart city construction by local governments, and the demand for large-scale data centers is becoming more and more intense.
As part of Arm Total Design, Egis Group's companies aim to accelerate the commercialization and wider adoption of Arm-based chip technology in AI HPC server chips. Egis will contribute its UCIe IP, a key interconnect in the chip architecture, Alcor will provide its expertise in advanced Chip-on-Wafer-on-Substrate (CoWoS) packaging services and chip design, and Arm will deliver its latest Neoverse CSS V3 platform to enable high-performance, low-latency and highly scalable AI server solutions. This work marks an important step forward for Egis Group in advancing the next generation of intelligent computing technologies.

The Arm Total Design ecosystem has been massive since its launch, bringing together multiple capabilities from design to contract manufacturing, and this expansion provides a broader range of collaborations and resources for custom silicon development for AI and HPC.
Eddie Ramirez, Vice President at Arm, said, "The Arm Total Design ecosystem has been instrumental in accelerating the development of solutions to the surge in demand for AI computing. We look forward to working with Egis Group to optimize Arm-based chips and provide new solutions for AI and HPC, enabling data center customers to gain greater flexibility and scalability."
"As generative AI applications continue to grow in popularity, the demand for high-performance computing is growing at an unprecedented rate. Through their deep cooperation with Arm, Egis and Alcor aim to lead the revolution in AI chip technology and provide the most competitive high-performance solutions to customers around the world.”
In addition, the Arm Total Design ecosystem doubled in size a year after its founding, driving global silicon innovation. Arm, Samsung Foundry, ADTechnology, and Rebellions have collaborated to develop an AI CPU chip platform based on Neoverse CSS V3, which combines Rebellions' REBEL AI accelerator and ADTechnology's Neoverse CSS V3-powered compute chip for cloud, HPC, and AI/ML training and inference workloads, powered by Samsung Foundry 2nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) advanced process technology implementation. This platform promises unmatched performance and best-in-class power efficiency, delivering an estimated 2-3x efficiency advantage for GenAI workloads.
