Huajin Securities analysis pointed out that Huawei's intelligent driving ecosystem will continue to expand and is expected to continue to lead China's industrial development. There are three main types of cooperation between Huawei and terminal car manufacturers: parts supply mode, HI mode, and smart car model (HIMA).
Component Supplier Model (Tier1 Model)
Cooperation: As a Tier 1 or Tier 2 component supplier, Huawei provides standardized components for automakers, including intelligent cockpit, intelligent driving, lidar, millimeter-wave radar, cameras, motors, battery management systems, and AR-HUD.
Characteristics of cooperation: Car companies can choose some parts of Huawei for procurement according to their own needs, Huawei does not participate in the overall design and development of the vehicle, but is only responsible for providing high-quality parts and components.
Huawei Inside Mode (HI Mode)
Cooperation: Huawei will provide automotive companies with full-stack intelligent vehicle solutions, covering five intelligent systems, including intelligent cockpit, intelligent driving, intelligent networking, intelligent electric vehicles, and intelligent vehicle cloud services, as well as more than 30 intelligent components.
Characteristics of the cooperation: The depth of cooperation is further than that of the parts supplier model, Huawei provides a complete set of intelligent vehicle solutions, and car companies can use Huawei's technology to quickly improve product competitiveness in terms of intelligence, but still maintain independent decision-making in the overall design and manufacturing of vehicles.
Smart Mode:
Cooperation content: Huawei not only provides technical solutions, but also deeply participates in the entire life cycle of vehicle design, production, and sales. Leveraging its channel advantages and brand power in the field of smart terminals, it helps car companies enhance their market competitiveness, such as Celis Huawei Smart SF5, AITO M5, Luxeed S7, MAEXTRO S800 and other models.
Characteristics of cooperation: Huawei's high level of participation, from product definition, design to sales channels, can give full play to Huawei's advantages in brand marketing and channels, increase the market attention and sales of models, and products are usually more closely integrated with Huawei's brand and ecosystem.

It is reported that Huawei has established cooperative relations with more than 10 car companies such as BYD, BAIC, FAW, Geely, and Celis. Starting in 2024, most domestic car companies have reached cooperation with Huawei in intelligent driving. In addition to Chery, BAIC, JAC, and Cialis in HIMA, Changan Deep Blue, VOYAH, GAC Trumpchi, BYD Formula Leopard, SAIC Audi, FAW Audi and other brands have announced that they are equipped with Qiankun Intelligent Driving, almost completing the coverage of domestic mainstream traditional car companies. Taking DEEPAL Automobile and Huawei as an example, the two parties officially signed a comprehensive and deepening business cooperation agreement in Chongqing on February 9, 2025, to increase the scale of cooperation in the field of intelligent networked vehicles, and actively promote the application of intelligent technologies such as Qiankun intelligent driving and Harmony cockpit.
In terms of technical advantages, Huawei's high-end intelligent driving system ADS is available in multiple versions, such as the ADS2.0 basic package, which has active safety assistance and other functions; The advanced package adds functions such as high-speed intelligent driving and navigation assistance; The advanced package also has functions such as urban intelligent driving and navigation assistance. Equipped with the industry's first laser fusion GOD network, the obstacle recognition is more accurate, and the NCA intelligent driving pilot can cover 90% of the scenes in the urban area, and the average manual takeover mileage has been increased from 100km to 200km after optimization. In addition, Huawei's self-developed AI computing power, sensors, software and algorithms, and cloud platform have made its intelligent driving system industry-leading in terms of perception accuracy, decision-making speed, and safety.
In terms of sales volume, Huawei's ADS2.0 has achieved sales of more than 3 billion, and the car BU is close to breakeven. Taking Huawei's fully empowered HarmonyOS Intelligent Bank as an example, 12,483 units of the M9 series, 11,420 units of the LUXEED R7, and 643 units of the STELATO S9 series were delivered in January 2025, becoming the sales champion of more than 400,000 luxury pure electric cars for six consecutive months. HarmonyOS delivered 34,987 new cars in January, ranking first in the average transaction price of Chinese auto brands for nine consecutive months.
In addition, Huawei's deep accumulation in 5G communications, artificial intelligence, and chip technology can promote the rapid development of intelligent and connected vehicles, prompt traditional automakers to accelerate technology R&D, transformation and upgrading, and promote the development of the entire industry to a higher level. Huawei not only provides technical solutions, but also actively participates in all aspects of the automotive industry chain, including parts supply, software services, and intelligent driving, which will promote the diversification and enrichment of the domestic automotive industry ecosystem and improve the industry's ability to resist risks and sustain itself.
