Navitas and Richardson Electronics Expand Tech Partnership

Richardson Electronics, Ltd. and Navitas Semiconductor recently announced that they will expand their partnership to provide Navitas' next-generation silicon carbide (SiC) power semiconductors to customers in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. This partnership marks the next step in Richardson Electronics' global support for Navitas' innovative products and will accelerate the presence of both companies in the EMEA market.

Navitas: A Leader in the Next Generation of Power Semiconductors

As the world's only pure-play technology company focused on next-generation power semiconductors, Navitas Semiconductor has a long history of being at the forefront of silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN). Navitas' GeneSiC silicon carbide products are based on its proprietary "trench-assisted planar" technology, which provides excellent performance in high-temperature environments, providing the advantages of high-speed, low-temperature operation. These characteristics make Navitas' SiC power semiconductors stand out for high-power, high-reliability applications, especially in power electronics and energy.

Richardson Electronics:Provide Innovative Technology for EMEA Area Customer

The collaboration is focused on expanding Navitas' GeneSiC product line from North America to the EMEA region, and Richardson Electronics will further advance the adoption of this technology across a wide range of industries. At the heart of this collaboration will be Navitas' latest family of third-generation Fast MOSFETs, which deliver superior performance through low-temperature operation and longer lifetimes. Gen-3 Fast MOSFETs can reduce case temperatures by up to 25°C and extend product life by up to three times compared to other SiC products, providing customers with a more stable and reliable solution.

"Richardson Electronics, as a leading global provider of power management products and application technologies, is excited to promote Navitas products in the EMEA region," said Greg Peloquin, executive vice president, Power & Microwave Technology and Green Energy Solutions Group, Richardson Electronics. "Our expansion of this partnership demonstrates our support for Navitas products while also providing our customers with disruptive technologies to meet their design needs."

Widely used in a wide range of fields, promoting the development of multiple industries

Navitas' silicon carbide and gallium nitride power semiconductors, particularly their wide voltage range (from 650V to 6,500V), are suitable for multiple high-power applications. These include, but are not limited to, renewable energy and energy storage, electric motor drives, electromagnetic heating and welding, battery charging, and high-voltage DC-DC conversion. For those who need more flexibility, Navitas also offers die products to help customers tailor solutions to their specific needs.

Join forces to expand market prospects

"We are pleased to enter into this partnership with Richardson Electronics to expand our silicon carbide portfolio from the Americas to the EMEA region," said David Carroll, senior vice president of global sales at Navitas. "Richardson Electronics' strength in technical support and sales channels, as well as its presence in key markets, will support our expansion of our customer base in the EMEA region."

With the increasing global demand for high-performance power semiconductors, the collaboration between Navitas and Richardson Electronics will undoubtedly create a wave of technological innovation in the EMEA region. Together, the two companies are advancing silicon carbide and gallium nitride technologies to provide efficient, reliable, and long-lasting power solutions for different industries, contributing to the global energy transition and smart manufacturing.
