ROHM Semiconductor and United Automotive Electronics Co., Ltd. (UAES) recently announced that they have signed a long-term agreement for the supply of SiC (silicon carbide) power devices. The partnership began in 2015, and the two parties have carried out in-depth technical cooperation and exchanges in the field of automotive applications of SiC power devices. The partnership has been further strengthened with the establishment of the SiC Joint Research Institute at UAES' headquarters in Shanghai in 2020. In 2021, ROHM's advanced SiC power devices and their peripheral components were highly recognized by UAES, making ROHM the preferred supplier of UAES.
This long-term supply agreement ensures that UAES has a stable supply of the SiC power devices it needs to meet the growing market demand for SiC-based inverter modules. Since November 2023, the agreement has been available to customers. In the future, ROHM and UAES will further deepen their cooperation to jointly promote technological progress in the automotive industry by accelerating the development of advanced SiC power solutions in the field of electric vehicles.
