Samsung Mass Produce 5nm AI Chip DX-M1 for Deepx

Recently, DeepX has reached an important cooperation with Samsung Electronics foundry design company Gaonchips, announcing that it will mass-produce the AI chip DX-M1 using the 5nm process. This cooperation marks a solid step forward for both parties in the field of AI semiconductors and jointly promoting the innovation and development of AI technology.

It is reported that DeepX has signed a mass production contract with Gaonchips, clarifying the mass production plan of DX-M1 chips. Prior to this, DeepX obtained a sample of the DX-M1 from Samsung's foundry business unit in June this year and conducted multiple mass production verification tests to ensure that the chip's performance met expectations. This chip combines low power consumption and high performance, making it a unique solution on the market.

The biggest highlight of the DX-M1 chip is its powerful processing power and extensive AI model support. It supports multi-channel video data with more than 16 channels on a single chip, enabling real-time AI computing processing of more than 30 frames per second. At the same time, the chip also supports a wide range of AI models from the most popular YOLOv5 object recognition model to the latest YOLOv8 and Vision Transformer models, providing users with more choice and flexibility.

Compared to other AI chips on the market, the DX-M1 performs well in terms of power consumption to performance ratio. It not only reduces the use of cache memory, but also increases computing processing power and accuracy, allowing users to enjoy high performance while effectively reducing energy costs.

DeepX's DX-M1 chip has already attracted a lot of attention in the global market. At present, the chip has been used by more than 40 global companies for pre-qualification testing of large-scale production and development products, involving multiple fields such as robotics, intelligent mobility, AI video security systems, and AI servers. In addition, the DX-M1 chip also won the Embedded Technology and Robotics Innovation Award at CES 2024, fully demonstrating its market potential and industry influence.

For the future development plan, DeepX said that it will actively cooperate with global enterprise customers. It is expected that in the second half of this year, the company will start mass production and development cooperation with 10 global enterprise customers, and plans to further expand the scope of cooperation in the first half of 2025 to jointly promote the application and development of AI technology with more enterprise customers.
