Samsung Using MediaTek Chipsets

According to media reports, Samsung is testing the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus with the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chip, which has excellent performance and price advantages, and is expected to be released in October, available in gray and silver. Previously, Samsung's high-end tablet products were mainly equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon series chips, and this switch to cooperation with MediaTek not only shows Samsung's recognition of MediaTek technology, but may also help Samsung increase its leverage when negotiating prices and reduce its dependence on a single supplier.

According to sources, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 series tablet is expected to be officially unveiled in October 2024, and this series of products will be equipped with MediaTek's latest Dimensity 9300+ processor. Built on TSMC's advanced 4nm process, the processor features an all-large-core CPU architecture, including four high-performance Cortex-X4 ultra-large cores and four high-efficiency Cortex-A720 large cores, providing unprecedented power to tablets.

Samsung's choice of MediaTek as the processor supplier of the flagship tablet this time has many considerations behind it. On the one hand, with the increasingly fierce competition in the market, the prices of old processor suppliers such as Qualcomm Snapdragon continue to rise, which has brought greater cost pressure to terminal manufacturers such as Samsung. On the other hand, MediaTek has made significant progress in the mobile chip market in recent years, and the performance of its flagship processors has been able to rival and even surpass manufacturers such as Qualcomm.

For Samsung, this decision not only helps to reduce production costs and improve product competitiveness, but also is an important embodiment of its diversified supply chain strategy. By introducing new processor suppliers such as MediaTek, Samsung is able to reduce its dependence on a single supplier, enhance its bargaining power in procurement negotiations, and add more flexibility and initiative to future market competition.

The release of the Galaxy Tab S10 series of tablets will undoubtedly bring a new vitality to the tablet market. In addition to being equipped with MediaTek's flagship processor, this series of products will also be comprehensively upgraded in terms of screen size, memory configuration, and exterior design. It is reported that the Galaxy Tab S10 series will provide two products, the 12.4-inch Galaxy Tab S10+ and the larger Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, to meet the diverse needs of different users. At the same time, the minimum 12GB RAM configuration will also bring users a smoother experience.

With the upcoming release of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 series, consumers are looking forward to this tablet powered by MediaTek's flagship chip. They believe that with Samsung's deep accumulation in the field of tablets and MediaTek's continuous innovation in processor technology, the Galaxy Tab S10 series will bring users a better experience.

In addition, Samsung is also continuing to develop its own chips, with the Exynos 2500 in the pipeline, which is expected to be used in future Galaxy S25 series smartphones, which will further reduce its reliance on external chip suppliers and improve the profitability of Samsung's smartphone business. Samsung's choice of MediaTek chips this time marks an important step in its supply chain diversification strategy, and also provides an opportunity for MediaTek to showcase its technological prowess among the world's top brands.
