Siemens recently announced the Innexis product suite, further enriching the use cases of its Veloce hardware-assisted verification and validation system.
Building on the widespread adoption and success of the Veloce system, the Innexis product suite has added several new features to support customers in "shift-left" software development early in IC development. These capabilities span hardware/software development flows from virtual, hybrid, to full RTL, provide an architecture-native virtual platform for early, high-speed software development, and create digital twins of software-defined vehicles and other complex systems through the analog backplanes of Siemens PAVE360 software.
"As integrated circuits (ICs) rapidly increase in complexity, designers need more efficient ways to meet market demands. Veloce has been widely adopted by industry leaders to help address this challenge. The Innexis product suite builds on this foundation to further improve workflows and help customers shorten IC development and debug cycles," said Jean-Marie Brunet, vice president of digital industrial software and general manager, hardware-assisted verification, Siemens. "This solution allows IC designs to be launched months before the RTL phase, while supporting common software loads throughout development."
Early software development and IP validation processes with a shift-left approach are now required. As software loads continue to rise and chip designs become more complex, it is critical to develop and test real-world loads at an early stage. A proactive, shift-left software approach reduces the risk of finding problems at a later stage. The Innexis product suite consists of three core products that collectively support the software development and IP verification process for complex chip designs that are further complex due to increased software workloads. With a shift-left approach, the Innexis suite helps identify problems early in the development cycle.

Currently, the Innexis product suite includes the following key modules:
Innexis Developer Pro: Provides an integrated development flow from virtual to hybrid to full RTL, providing a complete environment for accelerating complex SoC designs, enabling seamless hardware-software co-development, joint verification, and accurate pre-silicon analysis. Innexis Developer Pro supports the modeling of heterogeneous cores and custom SystemC models, runs efficiently in hybrid virtual and RTL modes, and switches to full RTL simulations when needed for higher accuracy analysis.
Innexis Architecture Native Acceleration (ANA): This is a high-speed, cloud-based virtualization platform that runs on Arm-based servers, enabling software workloads to run much faster. Deliver scalable computing resources and convenient browser-based access with cloud hosting. It can also run on an on-premise Arm server if the customer needs it. The module supports early software development and testing and quickly identifies software defects.
Innexis Virtual Systems Interconnect: Seamlessly connect multiple virtual and physical subsystems by supporting multiple communication protocols to help create a comprehensive system-level digital twin platform. Innexis virtual system interconnect models can include SoC models of Innexis Developer Pro or Innexis Architecture Native Acceleration to further support system-level shift-left software development and RTL verification.
The introduction of the Innexis product suite not only expands Veloce's workflow improvements, helping customers shift their IC development and debug cycles left, but also enables IC designs to begin months before the final RTL, while using common software workloads throughout the development process. This provides a more efficient solution to address the exponential growth in integrated circuit complexity and meet the needs of the industry.
