Sunlit Chemical Expands Global Reach with US Facility

Sunlit Fluo & Chemical Co. Ltd., a leading semiconductor chemicals supplier in Taiwan, is aggressively expanding its international operations with the opening of its first manufacturing facility outside of Asia, Sunlit Arizona, LLC in Phoenix, Arizona, United States. The facility is designed to provide critical materials to the United States semiconductor industry and to strengthen Sunlit's position in the global semiconductor supply chain.

Sunlit celebrated the official opening of its new facility on October 23 with a $100 million investment, marking a milestone in the company's business development in the United States. The 27-acre, 900,000-square-foot facility features a vertically integrated manufacturing model focused on optimizing the manufacturing of high-purity hydrofluoric acid and other critical chemicals needed for semiconductor production. Sunlit Arizona will also be a key partner to more than 200 semiconductor-related businesses in Arizona, supporting the state's thriving advanced manufacturing industry.

"The establishment of Sunlit Arizona is an important step in the company's journey to help semiconductor companies in the United States and Arizona achieve their production goals while advancing technological innovations that are critical to the future of the industry," said Bryan Lin, President of Sunlit Group. We are proud to bring our expertise to Arizona, a state already a global leader in semiconductor production and innovation.”

Arizona has attracted more than 40 semiconductor-related companies since 2020, with a total investment of more than $100 billion and more than 16,000 jobs. Greater Phoenix has grown into a collaboratively innovative region that brings together the top players in the semiconductor industry and accelerates Arizona's leadership in advanced manufacturing.

Gov. Katie · Hobbs said, "Arizona's semiconductor industry is growing rapidly, and the opening of Sunlit's new facility is the latest example. Sunlit Arizona will create high-paying jobs and further improve our manufacturing ecosystem. Through collaboration and innovation, we will continue to strengthen Arizona's position as a semiconductor powerhouse and bring a more prosperous economy to the state."

The first phase of the Sunlit Arizona plant is expected to create more than 50 local jobs in early 2025 and will be gradually expanded to 100 employees in the future as production expansion and new investments increase.

Sand·ra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Business Authority, said, "We are excited to celebrate this milestone with Sunlit to further advance Arizona's semiconductor industry. Sunlit was one of the first Taiwan semiconductor suppliers to choose to invest in Arizona, and we look forward to supporting its successful growth."

Greater Phoenix also has one of the largest semiconductor talent pools in the nation, with about 140,000 people working in careers related to semiconductor production. According to the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, Arizona universities produce approximately 2,000 semiconductor graduates each year, and an additional 35,000 students are studying engineering programs at colleges and universities in the state, providing critical talent support for Sunlit's long-term growth and the continued expansion of the local semiconductor industry.

"As a meeting point of innovation and opportunity, Phoenix is pleased that Sunlit has chosen to locate its facility," said Kate Gallego, Mayor of ·Phoenix. In my many communications over the past few years, including last summer's meeting with their leadership in Taiwan, I have shown them the advantages of Phoenix. We provide businesses with a solid platform to go to market, ensuring they get the support they need from the start. Sunlit joins an already strong supply chain in Phoenix, which will create quality local jobs and further boost the economy.”

Chris Camacho, President and ·CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, added, "Sunlit's expansion in United States further broadens local supply chains, strengthens opportunities to work with top global chemical manufacturers, and its entry into United States markets underscores Phoenix's importance in the nation's semiconductor ecosystem. ”

Sunlit's expansion in the U.S. not only highlights Taiwan's critical role in the global semiconductor supply chain, but also further deepens ties with United States manufacturing. By increasing domestic production capacity and promoting the application of cutting-edge technologies, the Sunlit Arizona plant will contribute to United States national security and economic resilience.
