Vishay Semiconductor will reportedly showcase its broad portfolio of power management solutions at PCIM Europe 2024 that address several increasingly important trends in power electronics, such as electric vehicles, efficient power conversion, energy storage, and grid management. SiC MOSFETs are favored for their high efficiency, high-temperature stability, and low switching power consumption, making them ideal for applications that require efficient energy management and conversion, such as electric vehicles, solar inverters, and UPS systems.
At the show, Vishay Semiconductor showcased its 1200V MaxSiC™ family of silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFETs, which are in the spotlight for their excellent on-resistance performance. These MOSFETs are available in 55 mΩ, 95 mΩ, and 280 mΩ on-resistance packages in standard packages for industrial applications, and are available with custom products to meet specific needs. SiC MOSFETs are stable at high temperatures and can withstand much higher temperatures than conventional silicon (Si) materials due to their high band widths (up to 2.2 eV to 3.3 eV).
At PCIM, Vishay Semiconductor's focus is on the company's newly announced 1200V Max series of silicon carbide MOSEFTs, which have on-resistance of 55mΩ, 95mΩ, and 280mΩ in standard packages. Suitable for industrial applications, specific products are also available. In addition, Vishay will provide a roadmap for the development of 650V to 1700V SiC NOSFETs with on-resistance ranging from 10mΩ to 1Ω. The product family was launched to address several increasingly important trends in power electronics, including electronic mobility, efficient power conversion, energy storage, and grid management.
