According to the classification of product applications, the top three MEMS market sizes in 2020 are RF sensors (2.05 billion, 17%, CAGR12%), pressure sensors (1.768 billion, 14.7%, CAGR4.9%) and MEMS inertia (1.503 billion, 12.47%, CAGR5.2%).

From the perspective of the industry, the Internet of Things is penetrating into the subdivided application scenarios of various industries, and in terms of growth rate, the Internet of Things connection in manufacturing, medical health, transportation and other industries will show rapid growth. In the manufacturing industry, the application and deployment of various technology products such as sensor equipment, robots, and software and hardware AIoT edge for production process detection lay the foundation for intelligent manufacturing of enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises. It is expected to achieve a high growth rate of 33.3% in the next five years.

MEMS products are used in a wide range of fields, including smart cars, smart homes, smart factories, health care, smart communities and other fields. According to CCID Consulting, China's overall MEMS market reached 59.78 billion yuan in 2019 (including design, foundry, packaging and testing), a year-on-year increase of 18.3%. China is the world's major consumer of electronic devices, consuming nearly half of MEMS devices every year. In the future, with the implementation of strategies such as industrial Internet, intelligent manufacturing, and artificial intelligence, the construction of smart cities, intelligent manufacturing, and smart medical care will be accelerated, which will bring high prosperity development opportunities to the MEMS market and enterprises.

At present, the domestic MEMS sensor industry is in a period of rapid development, but there is still a certain gap compared with the international advanced level. Domestic MEMS sensor companies need to further improve their technology research and development, product performance, and market competitiveness. However, with the strong support of national policies and the continuous growth of market demand, domestic MEMS sensor companies are expected to gradually realize domestic substitution and increase market share through technological innovation and product upgrading.

The domestic MEMS sensor industry chain has been continuously improved, including R&D and design, manufacturing, packaging and testing. In the context of the advent of the era of the Internet of Things, MEMS sensors have ushered in a high boom development opportunity, and there is a large space for domestic substitution. Domestic enterprises should seize this opportunity, increase R&D investment, improve the technical level, improve the layout of the industrial chain, and promote the rapid development of the MEMS sensor industry. At the same time, the government should continue to introduce relevant policies to support the R&D and application of key technologies such as MEMS sensors, so as to provide a strong guarantee for industrial development.
